Through community building and engagement, Vancouver Second Mile Society aims to see low-income seniors in Vancouver’s urban core live healthy, fulfilling lives.

In a society where seniors are increasingly isolated and undervalued, we collaborate directly with low-income seniors to build and strengthen their capacity to help themselves and one another.

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for low-income seniors through our drop-in centres that create space for community building and outreach programs that meet social, recreational, nutritional, informational needs.

We provide and maintain safe and non-judgmental environments that welcome people from all backgrounds;

We work together with our volunteers and partner organizations to identify and address seniors’ needs;

We empower seniors to meet their own needs and the needs of their community by giving them relevant resources;

We ensure that everyone can easily access essential needs, such as community spaces, affordable and nutritious food.
